ESCROW
MODULUS "ESCROW1" ESCROW 1
is a working unit which can be utilized in association
with different kinds of bill-coin validators. It can completely
handle with every type and model of coin and bill normally
used for the payment of services. The validated bank-notes
(max. 16) are placed in an intermediate cash-box, where
they remain till the user's operation is finished; after
that they can definitively be located in the main cash-box.
Otherwise ESCROW 1, in case of escrow modality or incomplete
payment of the right amount or choice of a not avalilable
/false service, gives you the possibility of having the
inserted bank-notes back. The unit ESCROW 1 can be utilized
wherever the self service distribution of different kinds
of products( like tickets, fuels, telephone cards, sweets,
games etc.) could be requested. Main unit The main unit
is composed by a transfer system which, through mechanical
supports, transfers the bank-notes into an opening representing
the intermediate cash-box. When collected, the bank-notes
are located in an anti-infractio safety cash-box. In case
of return of the inserted bank-notes, these, through a
specifical operation,are transferred to a bank-notes exit,
where the user can pick them up. Bank-notes cash-box The
bank-notes cash-box can contain up to 1000 bank-notes
of different type and value, normally accepted by the
bill-coin validator. The bill-coin entry is placed on
the frontal face of the working unit (in this way it is
possible to eliminate all the accessories needed to pull
out the cash-box, like telescopic guides, supports, cumbersome
fastenings). The cash-box containing the money can be
entered through a lock with key, placed on the outside
of the main structure; it can be pulled out through a
suitable latch, which unhooks the cash-box and, at the
same time, forbids the money entry. The cash-box will
be pulled out and set up only by an authorized operator.
Electronical features The working unit ESCROW 1 is provided
with an electronical system based on a micro-controller,
which handles with the movements of the working unit and
at the same time exchanges data through a serial communication
unit (e.g. a Personal Computer). Commands can be tansmitted
to the working unit also in parallel way (through I/O),
if the unit functions in stand alone modality. It has
been foreseen a two level self-diagnostc check for the
peripheral units of the working unit. The first level
is represented by a led, which switches on if the mechanism
is out of service. The second level is represented by
a serie of codes that the working unit sends to the Host
Computer to identify what kind of anomaly occured. The
self-diagnostic check includes also a list of the previous
out of service, which memorizes the last 50 codes. The
present model has 2 serial lines: -Serial line 1 dedicated
only to the exchange of data with the Computer. -Serial
line 2 dedicated to the exchange of data between the board
and the bill coin validator. In this way we will have
the complete control of the 2 units ( bill-coin validator
and intermediate cash-box) by using one serial line of
the Host Computer only. Should the mechanism be interfaced
with another kind of bill-coin validator, the communication
system with the Host Computer would never be changed.
